That was the theme for the weekend for us as it probably was for everyone else too! Thanks to Hurricane Ike and some other tropical storm, we got drenched this weekend. Fortunately, we had no water in our basement but many of my friends did and were home from work bailing out their basements today. Payton and I were so sick of being in the house that we braved the rain and ran a few errands and even made it to the mall just to play at an indoor playground:)
Today my obsession with weather (Graham thinks its more than an obsession) led me to travel into downtown Naperville during rush hour:) I just HAD to see what the papers and the people were saying about the DuPage river flooding the downtown area. WOW, was it cool to see that the river had swallowed Centennial Beach completely and was rushing super fast over the beautiful covered bridges that are along the riverwalk. I was so bummed that I had forgotten my camera because it was definitely a sight that will be talked about for many many years!

It'll only be talked about until the next time it happens. And it will happen. I got pictures if you want to see them. Let me know.
Oh, I'm so JEALOUS!!! I just saw your libarary thing! I'm so going to find it right now!
Hi, Payton, Kristy and Graham! What fun to see all your great pictures and read the comments. Just like having you here with your Mom and me, except I can't see you and give you each a big hug and kiss.
Thanks for the pictures you sent us. Grandpa and I think of you all more than you'll ever know. You are precious to us especially little-big Payton. My how he has grown and changed... a handsome little guy.
Love you, Grandma Brown
I am here at Panera with your mom while your dad and Grandpa are at coffee.
