What is With These Red Spots?
Ok..so this post is actually not about Payton, but about my quest to figure out what is wrong with me! Two weeks ago I woke up to some red spots on my neck and face and just figured it was dry skin but as the day went on they got worse. I went to see the nurse at school around noon on that Friday and she told me I had to go home and was not allowed to be at work. So...I went to urgent care since we were on our way to Grizzly Jacks that weekend and the Dr. said it was ringworm since there was a big ringworm like patch on my back. I was not totally covinced because where would I have picked up ringworm? He gave me an anti fungal cream to put on the spots. So, for a week I put this cream on the old spots but new ones kept popping up and do you know how frustrating it is to try to remember what spots you put the cream on and which ones you haven't? Then on Saturday morning after getting out of the shower the spots had multiplied X4 and I knew I had to get to the Dr. again so I called and got in that morning. I went to my normal Dr. and not urgent care this time and he took one look at me and said it was not ringworm but pityriasis rosea! No wonder the cream wasn't working:) He said it is not dangerous but just annoying and could stick around for up 3 months! Yikes! So because my case was so severe (everywhere including neck and face) he gave me a steroid to take to help but most cases don't get any medication. So...I am sticking to that diagnosis for the time being and we will see in 3 months.
