Can we go skiing already?

Yes, we took Payton for his first skiing experience on Saturday. We had the opportunity to go with Graham on the school ski trip and the best part of it is that it was free for us all:) Payton was so excited to hear that he would be riding on a big bus with the high school kids and that he would get to watch movies. Although Mean Girls and Accepted are not appropriate movies for a 3-year-old, he managed to stay entertained. We did put Diego on his little TV to try and distract him from the other movies!

Payton loved skiing! He was excited to ride the "magic carpet" up the hill and Graham let him go down alone for the first few times, until he crash landed on the conveyor belt and got a little scared. He bounced back right away and just kept on asking to go more times. Graham had him ski in between his legs for the majority of the day and they even made it on the chair lift and down some "blue" hills! Payton made it til about 2pm that day and then we headed in for some hot chocolate and cookies.

All in all we had a great day. The only time Payton was upset was when we tried to get him to wear a helmet and he wanted nothing to do with it. We finally caved in hopes of not totally spoiling the day. Graham goes skiing again with the ski club next weekend and I will join him on the last trip in March. I am so thankful that we had this opportunity to share another fun experience with Payton at such a young age.
