Mia and Payton eating dinner
Sarah, Mike and Bella came up from Dallas for the weekend so I got all of the ISU girls together and some of Graham and Mike's friends and had everyone over for a barbecue on the 3rd. It was so much fun to see all of the families. The funny part was that Payton was the oldest at the party and Payton and Mia were the only kids walking, the rest were all babies! Graham's high school friends Brian, Mike and Dan all had baby girls within the year so it was great to see them all together. It was a late night but so much fun. Payton even had his first half-sleepover at his house. Becky and Cort put their kids down at our house so they could stay longer and fortunately for Mia and Payton, we ran out of rooms. By the time everyone was asleep we had 6 kids sleeping at our house. Mia slept in a sleeping bag on Payton's floor. The cutest part was that Payton wanted to give Mia a hug and kiss goodnight and then wanted to tell her stories til she fell asleep. At one point I went in there and Mia was asleep and Payton was mad because he wanted to tell her more stories:) LOL! They fell asleep surprisingly fast and Becky and I only had to go in there a couple of times. He was sad when he woke up in the morning and Mia was gone.
On the 4th we went to a party down the street with more of Graham's high school friends and then the three of us went to the ribfest for the fireworks. Payton enjoyed a corn dog on a stick and a funnel cake before the fireworks began. He was so tired that at first he told me he didn't like the fireworks because he was trying to take a nap and they were too loud. Payton has been going to the fireworks since his first time at 4mos old and has never cried. He has always loved watching them and asks for more when they are finished. His favorite this year were the smiley face ones!
