On the carousal Brady's first zoo visit

Graham's spring break was a week before mine but since I am on maternity leave this year it didn't matter:) We had a lot of fun plans for the week but unfortunately Payton got sick half way through so those plans went out the window. We did manage to get in a few fun things at the beginning of the week. On Monday we went to Brookfield Zoo. Monday was the best weather day we had, about 60 degrees and sunny. We had a great time and Brady enjoyed his first zoo visit! After the zoo we went to the park and enjoyed the rest of the day. On Tuesday we went to the Museum of Science and Industry in Chicago. Graham and I both had not been there since we were kids so it was fun for all 3 of us! What a cool museum and really we could have spent two days there seeing it all. Payton had a blast and was completely wiped out afterwards!

On Wednesday morning Payton got the stomach flu and then had a fever til about Thursday evening. We laid low those two days and were hoping he would feel better by Friday, when we were suppose to leave to go to Iowa for the weekend. Thankfully on Friday morning he was feeling much better and we decided to head out to Iowa.

We spent Friday afternoon and evening with Graham's Grandma and his Aunt and Uncle. On Saturday we went out to breakfast with Great Grandma, saw Graham's cousin's new loft and then had chili dogs at George's Chili King (total greasy spoon). The afternoon was topped off with swimming in the hotel pool. We had a light dinner at Panera and hung out with Great Grandma and Aunt Twila that evening. Brady was the hit of the weekend as usual:) On Sunday we did some more swimming and then headed over to Graham's Uncle and Aunt's house for his cousin Beth's wedding shower. The shower was very nice and we were so happy we were able to come out for it.

On Monday Graham went back to work but I had some more fun stuff planned for the boys and I since many of my friends were off this week. On Monday we had a play date with one of the girls in Payton's class at McDonald's play land. Then we went to my Mom's to play with Jolie and Emmett. On Tuesday we met my friend Jen and her boys at Monkey Joe's jumpy place and had lunch at Portillos. On Wednesday we went to Pelican Harbor indoor pool with my friends Melissa and Becky and the kids. It was perfect, the kids played in the zero depth pool while we chatted. Payton then played with his buddy Chase when we got home. On Thursday we went to the zoo again with my sister and kids and then went to her house for lunch. That night I drove down to Bloomington to see one of my best friends that was in town from California. So glad I could bring Brady so she could meet him. On Friday, we went to my sister-in-law's house for a play date and then the guys met us and we had a yummy dinner. Payton had a birthday party that night for one of his oldest friends.

After writing this post I can't believe we crammed that all into two weeks! These last two weeks have been fun but I am ready to get back to our normal routine. School for Payton starts again tomorrow:)
