After our week in Branson, MO we left the family and drove to southern Illinois for a couple nights of camping and a day or two of hiking. Shawnee National Forest area was beautiful. I didn't know Illinois could be that pretty and hilly:) We stayed at a campground that was really meant for those going ATV riding but despite the loud riders the first night it was not a bad place to stay. We went hiking at a couple different state parks in the area, one with the most beautiful bluffs that we ended up having our picnic on and one that had a cool cave. Payton got to ride in Graham's backpack for the first time and was pretty content the whole time. He did get out and do a lot of hiking but when he was tired he sat in the backpack. The weather was perfect the whole weekend and even though we ended up only staying 2 nights rather than the 3-4 we had planned, we had a great time.

Nana and her grandchildrenWe were ready to get back home and see Sami so we left on Monday morning and drove 6.5hrs back North. We stopped at my sister's on the way home to celebrate my Mom's birthday. The kids had fun playing dress up and yes Payton loves dressing up in princess dresses and its totally OK with us:) It was a great evening that ended a wonderful vacation.

These are fantastic pictures. There are so many good ones and Payton looks so grown-up. My brother used to wear dresses with me and he turned out just fine :)
