This weekend was my niece Emma's 2nd birthday. I can't believe she is 2 already! Graham's parents came in on Wednesday morning but unfortunately Payton had a fever that day and didn't end up seeing them until Friday night. We had a wonderful dinner at The Melting Pot on Friday night and spent the day on the boat on Saturday.
Sunday morning Graham's parents met us out for breakfast with Emma at Charlie's restaurant, which is at Clow Airport in Bolingbrook. The place is perfect for kids because there are multiple planes taking off and landing during breakfast. Sunday afternoon was the big party. Payton had a blast and was did extremely well with not helping Emma open her gifts, letting her do it herself, and only handing her a few at the end. In my opinion that is pretty great for 3 1/2-year-old.
On Monday, we went to the Labor Day parade with Graham's parents and ended up meeting up with my parents, who also had Jolie and Emmett with them. The kids had a great time trying to get candy and watching all of the bands.
Tomorrow it is time to head back to work and take Gaia and Grandpa Al to the airport. We had a great time and hope to see more of them in November when everyone is healthy:)
