On Wednesday we left on our first camping trip, with the camper, of the summer! Payton came down with a high fever the day before but luckily it was on its way down by the time we left. We wanted to bike the Elroy-Sparta State Trail in Wisconsin so Graham found a campground right in the middle of the 32 mile trail. It was nice but a little expensive. The campground had a pool with a kiddie pool, miniature golf, showers/bathrooms and a playground so Payton had a blast! We just played around after setting the camper up on Wednesday and we all enjoyed our first night not in a tent. On Thursday, we spent the majority of the day biking the trail. We went through some cute little towns, even stopping for some pie on our way back. The scenery was great and we even got to go through an old train tunnel. I think the tunnel was Payton's favorite part since he had to use his flashlight to walk through it! Graham and I were so tired by the time we finished the 21 mile ride but we managed to still have some energy to stay up and build a fire. It was a bit chilly at night but otherwise we had decent weather. We leave on Wednesday for camping trip #2 with my sister and her family. We will be heading out to the Warren Dunes in Michigan this time.
