This year we were fortunate that both of our families were taking family vacations, however they were back to back so we decided to do a long road trip. We started out heading out to Myrtle Beach, SC for my family's vacation. Since we are both home for the summer we decided to take our time getting there, not driving more than 6.5hrs at a time. The first night we stopped in Lexington, KY. Our usual schedule was driving and getting to our hotel by dinner time, eating dinner, going to bed, waking up and playing in the pool, eating lunch and then heading out to the next hotel. The schedule worked well for us and for Payton. We drove from Lexington, KY to Columbia, SC the second day. My sister and her family decided to drive straight through so it worked out that they happened to go through Columbia while we were still at our hotel. They were able to stop, take a break and let the kids swim for a bit. We all headed out for the last leg of the trip to Myrtle Beach.

The trip was great! Each family had their own one bedroom condo that overlooked the beach. We did breakfast and lunch in the condo and dinner out pretty much every night. The kids had a blast at the many pools, lazy rivers and at the beach riding the waves in their floaties. We went to a place called Alligator Adventure which was like a zoo with mainly alligators. It was pretty cool and the kids loved it. We got to see them feed the alligators and they even got to pet a baby alligator.
I am so thankful that my parents did this for us this year, we had a blast!
